IMPORTANT NOTICE: To protect the health and safety of court employees, elected officials and the general public, Governor Beshear has declared a State of Emergency in response to COVID-19. In order to comply with Order 2020-08 of the Supreme Court of Kentucky which orders the cancellation of all non-emergency court matters from March 16 - April 10, all Commissioner Sales currently scheduled for March 30, 2020, have been cancelled. As soon as we are cleared to proceed, we will update this website and reschedule all sales for a date not yet determined.
The function of the Office of the Master Commissioner is to assist the Franklin Circuit Court in the discharge of its duties and the enforcement of its judgments, as for example, conducting sales of property to satisfy liens, mortgages, or claims of ownership. This site is dedicated to those type of proceedings.
Unless otherwise set out below, the sales are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 11:30 am in Courtroom C on the second floor of the Franklin County Courthouse located at 222 St. Clair Street Frankfort, Kentucky. The public is invited to attend. 2020 sale dates (subject to change) are:
January 27th May 26th (TUESDAY) September 28th
February 24th June 22nd October 26th
March 30th July 27th November 23rd (could possibly move to November 30th)
April 27th August 24th December - NO SALES
In the event the Master Commissioner has a conflict of interest in a case, a Special Master Commissioner is appointed by the Court to handle the sale. The Special Master Commissioner may or may not conduct his sales on the same day and time as the regular Master Commissioner Sales. Information regarding those sales can be found in sports section of The State Journal's Friday editions.
